The STWRC provides an active archive of the Environmental Sensor Station (ESS) data collected as part of the FHWA Clarus Initiative. This active archive is provided as a service to the Road Weather Community to foster the use of ESS data to better understand the road weather enviorment and to foster further research on the physics of the roadway environment. Access to the data is open and available to any individual and organization.

Please be aware that Clarus is an experimental system and data continuity and availability for all times is not guaranteed.

NOTE: Hourly files shown are compressed and the sizes listed are for the uncompressed files combined into the hourly file. Each hourly file contains all data available at the time of the download by UND STWRC, which generally occurs six hours after the original time of the file being posted on the Clarus System. The hourly file typically includes three files representing data available at :00, :20 and :40 minutes after the hour.
